Kirishima City's first sand bath opens.
The long-awaited reopening of the open-air bath, Byakushinoyu.
Sand bath Kirisuna
You can now experience the famous and nationally rare "sand bath" of Ibusuki in Kirishima, which is close to Kagoshima Airport.
Based on repeated data analysis of the compatibility between the sulfur springs and sand of Kirishima,
we opted for silica sand (mountain sand) derived from siliceous deposits—known for its skin-beautifying effects—rather than the “seasand” typically used in Ibusuki. We are pleased to offer a new bathing experience designed to enhance both beauty and health.
Open-air bath Byakushi-no-yu
The open-air bath, Byakushinoyu, had been temporarily closed since May 2023 for renovations.
This will be revived along with the opening of the sand bath.
Unlike the main building's large public bath, "Kirinoyu," this open-air bath offers a different atmosphere, with seasonal greenery and a deep, milky blue color. You can enjoy a genuine open-air bath with free-flowing hot spring water that reflects the 55-year history since the hotel's opening.
