■Features of the sand bath Hot springs "Kirisuna"

The pressure of the sand and the thermal effect of the high temperature encourage profuse sweating, warming your entire body from the inside out in a short amount of time, providing an invigorating and refreshing feeling.

The sand used is tested for its ingredients and analyzed for compatibility with sulfur springs, and silica sand (mountain sand) derived from whitebait is used instead of the sea sand used in Ibusuki.

In addition to increasing expectations for skin-beautifying effects, you can also use the popular Mud Packs "Kirika" for free when experiencing sand steaming.

The sand bath area, which can be used by men and women at the same time, features 28 beds across 2 sections. It is fully equipped with lockers, shower rooms, and various amenities, and is conveniently located about 30 minutes from Kagoshima Airport. Visitors can easily experience this uniquely Japanese bathing method, which is rare even nationwide, as a day-trip.

■ Open-air bathByakushi no Yuwill reopen

The milky-white rock bath "Byakushi no Yu," which has been popular with repeat customers,will reopen in the new building "Kirisuna" fromJune1,2026.

This open-air bath features a unique characteristic:the sulfurous components of Hot springs react to sunlight, creating a mystical milky blue or emerald green color.

You can experience the unique charm of Kirishima's Hot springs.

The facility was temporarily closed in May 2023 due to the renovation of the main building, but will reopen to coincide with the opening of the sand-steam hot spring "Kirisuna."

The landscaping and interior have also been updated, creating a more comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.

By using it in conjunction with the sand Hot springs, you can experience the entire process of sweating followed by a soak in Hot springs, enhancing your overall satisfaction with your stay.
