A collaboration between various artists from both Japanese and Western genres, led by Tsugaru shamisen player Kohei Honda.
"Words are born from seeds in the human heart that grow and flourish."
We create and express this as "sound," and this idea led to the name "Otonoha."
The fusion of genres that can only be found here, the combination of Japanese sensibility and Western delicacy, creates a diverse musical worldview.

Piano/Reika Muroya
Born in Kagoshima City. Started playing piano at the age of four. Graduated from Kagoshima University, Faculty of Education, Music Department. Studied piano under Mayumi Aizono, Akiko Ando, and Susumu Yamashita. Completed a master class with Krzysztof Jabłoński at the 31st Kirishima International Music Festival. Currently, she is engaged in a wide range of performance activities, including concert planning and performance, accompaniment ensemble, and recording pianist. Based in Kagoshima, she performs with artists all over the country.
In 2019, she performed at the Japan Pavilion at "Art Macau 2019," sponsored by the Macau government and the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong, where she recieved rave reviews. She has also performed overseas at the College of Dramatic Arts in Hanoi, Vietnam, Bangkok, Thailand, and the Japanese School of Hong Kong.
Her major CD works include the albums "Satsuma Bassism" and "Bass Restoration" by double bass player Ryohei Morita, and the choral collection "Uta wa Itsumo Sokoni Ite" with lyrics by Wakako Kaku and music by Kensaku Tanigawa, both of which are currently in release.
She runs the Reika Piano School and actively teaches the next generation of piano players. In 2020, she opened the music salon "Otodokoro Canon" in Kagoshima City. She plans and holds monthly salon concerts entitled "A Treasure Box of Masterpieces Presented by Pianist Muroya Reika." She currently appears on MBC Radio's "Hello! Classic."

Oboe/Susumu Shie
Graduated from Kunitachi College of Music. Completed graduate studies at the Karlsruhe University of Music in Germany. Awarded a scholarship from the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Appeared at the Kagoshima Newcomer Concert (received the Prefectural Governor's Award) and the 2nd Yamaha Woodwind Recommended Newcomer Concert. While in Germany, performed with various orchestras including the Pforzheim Opera Orchestra. Also appeared in numerous concerts and music festivals, including the Trumpet Gala Concert by Reinhold Friedrich and Friends. Received the 32nd Kagoshima City Spring Newcomer Award. Currently a part-time lecturer at Heisei College of Music, the Department of Music, Faculty of International Culture, Kagoshima International University, and the Department of Music, Kagoshima Prefectural Shoyo High School.

Shimauta, Shamisen Momoko Ibusuki
Originally from Amami Oshima, she currently resides in Tokunoshima. After graduating from Musashino Academia Musicae with a major in piano from the Department of Instrumental Music, she completed the university's special vocal music course. She began learning piano from an early age, and from the age of 11 she studied shimauta (island songs) and shamisen under the tutelage of the late Yasuda Takahide. Currently, as a registered artist with the Kagoshima Prefectural Cultural Promotion Foundation Artist Bank, she is active in both Tokunoshima and Kagoshima, performing and promoting the culture of the area.
She has won numerous awards, including the overall championship at the Kyushu Regional Folk Song and Dance Competition and the runner-up at the Prime Minister's Cup Competition at the National Folk Song and Dance Competition, and has appeared on TV Tokyo's "THE☆Karaoke Battle" and NHK's "In Search of Folk Songs," and is actively performing both domestically and internationally, including in the UK, Thailand, and Sri Lanka. She is the third tourism ambassador for Yamato Village on Amami Oshima, and has released an album as the Shimauta duo "Sumomo," spreading the sound culture of Amami to a wide audience.
